Book Review: Turbulent Desires (Billionaire Aviators #2) by Melody Anne

ER nurse Lindsey Helm used to be strong. Then a late-night attack at the hospital nearly killed her and left two close colleagues dead. Now Lindsey has retreated from the world. She knows she needs to move on, but every hint of danger seems threatening—including a certain sexy fly boy who’s determined to show Lindsey what she’s missing. But falling for F-18 pilot Maverick Armstrong is a risk she can’t afford…

Maverick knows that fear can eat away at the soul, and he won’t leave Lindsey to that fate. She needs someone to reach her and to remind her of the exhilaration and unbelievable passion of being touched. He’ll help her heal, and then he’ll walk away. He has to walk away. Because Maverick swore he would never fall in love and never marry. But this is a rescue operation, and Maverick will stay the course—even if things get hazardous. Even if saving Lindsey means surrendering his heart in the process…

This is the second book in the Billionaire Aviators series by Melody Anne and it did not disappoint! It's also a standalone if you prefer to read them that way but I think that the book is even better if you've read the first book well, first.

The link between the two books in this series is absolutely seamless. This one picks up very shortly after the first book ended and it felt like I was meeting up with some old friends. The characters were extremely consistent - that's a big thing! Some authors seem to lose where they were with the previous books and then you pick up the next in the series and all of the sudden, the characters just don't feel the same. Not a problem here!

I can't even explain how excited I was to see that Maverick was the man of the hour for this book. I adored his character when you first met him in Turbulent Intentions. I found him to be even more captivating than I had expected. He's protective and patient and he truly wants what is best for Lindsey. Man ... Lindsey. The beginning of this book throws you into the middle of this harrowing experience that Lindsey is going through and then you're able to see how she grows and changes within the protective arms of Maverick. Talk about swoony. Holy cannoli. It doesn't hurt that Maverick is this hotshot military pilot. Doesn't hurt at all.

The story buzzes along at this great pace that leaves you wanting more. You're just surrounded by these great scheming old dudes and adorable brothers that like to poke fun at each other and an amazing sisterhood that makes you wonder if you can find a way to get adopted into this family. There wasn't even one sentence that was unnecessary - no skipping paragraphs!! I get bored easily because I find myself skipping paragraphs all too often.

Anyway, great book. Amazing book. One of my new favorite series and I can't wait to see who the next one is about but I have no doubt that it will be just as good (if not better) than this one!

* I received this book in exchange for an honest review *
